My trip to Sikkim was over eight years ago and I still remember it as one of the most amazing trips I have ever taken! I traveled with a school group for about four weeks with Loden’s company in what time we did a trek, home-stay while visiting a school and working on a service project, and traveled to various cities and towns in Sikkim. The trek was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. We hiked to Goecha La Pass at 4,490m to look up at Mt. Kangchenjunga another 4,096m soaring above us. The trek was more like a five star camping experience with yaks and porters carrying our packs and cooking for us. We ran into a few troubles: losing our luggage in Heathrow, having our bus windshield break by a small rock, and having a fellow student with an injured foot have to retreat from the trek. Loden took great care of us making sure we got our bags as quickly as possible and driving down to get them, sending the bus off to get fixed, and having a porter carry a girl who had hurt her foot miles and miles back down the trail from our trek. We knew we were in good hands and got the chance to spend some quality time with Loden’s amazing family, friends, and colleagues along the way. Sikkim and Bhutan are both absolutely amazing parts of the world, and I recommend traveling to them using Highland Adventure Trekking and Mountaineering!

I co-lead a month-long high school trip to Sikkim with Loden and his crew and can’t say enough wonderful things about him and his programs. This was my first time traveling to India and Loden not only made it special, but also did everything he could to make our trip run smoothly. We trekked, camped, did service work, stayed with host families, and visited important historical and cultural sites.
We had one issue with one of our students unable to enter Sikkim due to a problem with his visa, but Loden worked hard to make it work so that our student and faculty member who stayed back with him were taken care of, had comfortable places to stay, and even had sites to visit while Loden fixed the issue. We were reunited in no time and have Loden to thank.
I highly recommend Loden’s trips; the experiences are unforgettable, and Loden will remain a lifelong friend. I can’t wait for my next trip to Sikkim!

Sikkim is a gorgeous place, and our month there with Loden Sherpa was wonderful in all ways. Loden is a caring and knowledgeable guide who knows what he’s doing, and his drivers, cooks, and helpers are kind, helpful, reliable, and fun. Our student group learned much from our month in Sikkim that included home stays in Yuksum, camping, community service on the planet’s third highest mountain, a visit to Gangkok, and stays in a whole variety of places. I would recommend Loden Sherpa to anyone, and Sikkim is a once-in a lifetime adventure.

We spent a week with Loden in Nov 2015. From the moment he met us at the border we knew we were in safe hands! Loden is experienced and knowledgeable and great fun to be with. He went out of his way to make sure we saw and experienced as much as we could. Sikkim is incredibly beautiful and we highly recommend Loden and his staff.

We made two trekking tours with Loden and his crew. Once the Dzongri Trek and one time a trekking on the border to Nepal. Loden is always helpful and friendly and even in bad weather you feel safe with his guidance. We also made cultural sightseeing with him which we liked very much! We recommend Loden as a highly responsible person who could show you adventure, nature and culture in his wonderful country!

In Fall 2006 five female friends and I were probably one of the first groups Loden took on a cultural tour starting in Darjeeling, around Sikkim and to the Bhutan border. We were in good hands with Loden and his colleagues from the time we met at the Bagdogra Airport until he left us with his Bhutanese colleague in Phuntsoling, Bhutan. Loden and his crew were friendly, helpful, professional, and very responsive. Loden was always interested in making the trip better by suggesting alternatives and was very flexible with impromptu stops and changes along the way. We experienced some heavy rain, landslides, blocked roads but every unexpected event was handled safely and professionally and it was always interesting. We saw spectacular scenery, historic temples, walked through interesting local markets, visited villages, did a lot of walking (we’re not trekkers!) and had a wonderful time. I will always remember the spectacular Himalayas, especially at dawn, and Loden and his staff who made our trip to this very interesting corner of the world very special.

I traveled to Sikkim for three weeks in 2013 as a teacher leader with about ten high school students. Loden Sherpa and his crew were absolutely fantastic guides as we trekked, stayed with local families, and participated in community service work. Loden and his staff are professional, kind, welcoming, fun, and knowledgeable. Not only were we in one of the most beautiful places we had ever traveled to, but we were also surrounded by and provided with rich cultural experiences that will stay with me forever. A very special thank you to Loden as well for remembering my birthday as we trekked in Sikkim–somehow, Loden and his crew hiked with a cake without me ever knowing! It made that birthday particularly memorable. I can never forget the beautiful landscapes, the delicious food, the many laughs, and the warmth and kindness I experienced on this trip!
